Today’s question is “What is NEWCare and what services does it offer?”.
NEWCare, New England Wound Care, is a specialized wound care and ostomy care clinic. Our team has over 30 years of experience providing comprehensive wound and ostomy care throughout Western Massachusetts and Greater Springfield.
Currently, we have offices in the towns of Greenfield, Amherst, East Hampton, Westfield, and Florence. Our scope of care includes wound care, ostomy care, clinical education, resources, and patient support.
Wound Care
At NEWCare, our highly trained staff can provide care and manage a wide variety of wound care issues including but not limited to diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, burns (first and second degree only), skin tears, abrasions, and radiation induced skin breakdowns (wounds related to radiation treatment).
Our expert clinicians will perform a thorough assessment to determine the cause of your wounds. We utilize the latest advancements in wound dressings to promote and create an environment conducive to tissue regeneration. We work closely with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists. To ensure seemliness coordination of care and ongoing support for our patients we also work closely with vna services to help with ongoing management of patient care.
Ostomy Care
At NEWCare, we also provide assistance to ostomy patients. This includes but is not limited to parastomal assessment, parastomal hernia management, ostomy appliance size and fit assessment, ostomy appliance leakage, and education for ostomy patients and caregivers. Certified ostomy management specialists (OMS, Ostomy nurses) are involved throughout the care process.
