Testing and Procedures We Perform At Our Offices

Diagnostics

Ankle-brachial index (ABI) Testing

The ankle-brachial index test compares the blood pressure measured at your ankle with the blood pressure measured at your arm. A low ankle-brachial index number may indicate narrowing or blockage of the arteries in your legs.

Interventions

Debridement

Disruption of the biofilm with quality debridement provides the opportunity for the use of an effective topical intervention. Debridement can turn a stagnant chronic wound into an active wound positioned to heal.

Debridement can be a sharp surgical intervention or if appropriate using low frequency ultrasound (Ultramist).

Ultramist Treatments

The Ultramist system utilizes a low-frequency ultrasound to deliver a mist used to promote cleansing and maintenance debridement of the wound site. It is a noncontact option to remove fibrin, slough and tissue exudates.

Application of Skin Substitutes

A heterogeneous group of biologic, synthetic, or biosynthetic materials that can provide temporary or permanent coverage of open skin wounds. The aim of the skin substitute is to replicate the properties of normal skin.

Application of Compression Devices

Compression therapy is a method used to facilitate the healing chronic wounds. Socks or stockings are tightly knitted around the ankle or lower leg to provide the greatest amount of pressure at the ankle, and gradually less at the more proximal aspects of the limb.
